I have. Loved it, loved it. I put it in his top five. It's held back a bit by Billy Baldwin's performance. Donald Sutherland stole the show, though. He was great as the arsonist. Howard's got a strong resume, so fourth is nothing to sniff at.

I seem to recall Jennifer Jason Leigh stealing the show, one scene in particular ... :D

Watched "The Revenant" last night. I enjoyed it - the acting was excellent and the cinematography was incredible - but "Spotlight" was certainly a better film and I'm glad it won Best Picture. "Room" is the best film I saw from 2015, though.

Tom Hardy might be the best actor working. The guy disappears into every role.

No interest at all in seeing "Batman v Superman" in the theater, but a friend who reviews films - but most importantly is a comics fan - saw it tonight and really, really hated it. Both of my preferred review sites gave it a C-minus.

I really did not like the most recent Superman film. This one looks so dark and serious. Not interested in paying to see it.

And I grew up a huge DC comics fan.

They were showing the Christopher Reeve movies yesterday on Syfy. I caught part of Superman IV: The Quest for Peace. I had forgotten just what an awful, half-assed piece of crap they made. Not just the story, but even taking the time into consideration, the effects were shit. I guess it makes sense. There couldn't have been much faith in the franchise after Superman III, but damn.

Yeah. That was horrible. I don't think any of those Reeve movies quite got the vibe, but that was pathetic.

I guess it depends on your view of Superman. Those movies were my introduction to the character, so my image of Superman comes from the original and Superman II.

They were kind of stiff and didn't really work when they tried to be funny. Better than any Hulk or Fantastic Four movie, though.

They certainly don't work as well through the eyes of a modern adult as they did at the time, but for that era, they were darn good superhero movies.

I kinda liked Incredible Hulk (the one with Norton in the role), but I agree with your comparison.
