I've found that I like a blue cheese crust treatment on a good steak. Good combination of favors.

Steak sauce on a loaded baked potato is a simple pleasure. It makes just about anything on the plate better.

I've mastered poaching eggs by breaking the eggs in boiling water and swishing the water so the whites wrap around the yolk. With an English muffin and whatever spread one prefers (at the moment, I have an Amish horseradish cheese spread that is to die for), it puts the Egg McMuffin to shame.

I eat steak and eggs for breakfast. It hits the spot sometimes. Got it from Bob Evans a couple of weeks ago. Don't picture an 18 oz ribeye, we're talking more like 6.

Then there's corned beef hash. Another excellent breakfast meat choice if you like poached eggs, which I don't.

Corned beef hash was my dad's favorite. Good stuff, but it gives me terrible heartburn.

My brother once asked for steak sauce at Janko's Little Zagreb, a great no-frills steak joint in Bloomington, Indiana. The waitress was aghast. I watched her walk over to the grillman (the kitchen is virtually in the middle of the place), who glared at our table for what seemed like eternity.

If people like corned beef hash, I'll fight for their right to it. For me, the concept is stomach-turning, almost like ...

Glad to see YF liked this. After typing, I thought, "I hope YF isn't one of those terrible Chicagoans who has never had this city staple." :)
