Are you saying the AP misquoted Bork's book?

No way you're going to get Baron to look through a book, YF.

I'm saying the AP's saying you're wrong. Given your track record in such matters, I don't really know why we needed to go to the AP, but still ...

    Then how is this wrong?

Robert Bork says President Richard Nixon promised him the next Supreme Court vacancy after Bork complied with Nixon's order to fire Watergate special prosecutor Archibald Cox in 1973.

And don't pull a Sunshine and say that you don't feel like explaining it to me.

No adult should have to explain the self-explanatory to another adult.

President Reagan also promised to nominate Bork to the Supreme Court after Bork complied with President Nixon's order to fire Watergate special prosecutor Archibald Cox. I guess Ronnie was in on it, too.

Bork said in the book that Nixon promised him a nomination the very same night he did the firings.

If Bork doesn't do the firings, Nixon still calls him in the same night and promises him the nomination, right?

Oh, I knew what you were referring to the last time. I just wanted you to admit to it.

Why shouldn't he? The GOP has done everything short of plan a pre-convention kidnapping (I assume) to stop him.

He doesn't owe the party a damn thing.
