    Did they quote the book?

This is truly bizarro board that posters are defending Bork. Bork! Tinfoil hat territory!

Never mind that Bork actually got a hearing. Garland can't get a hearing because Bork, a known hatchet man for Nixon, didn't get to be on the Supreme Court?

They wrote that he said it in the book. If he didn't say it in the book, then they probably should run a correction, wouldn't you think?

Bizarre is that you think people are defending Bork. It's late-night Turnip Time. Bork is just a bit player.

I love it. The guy who loves to post tweets with interpretations is now demanding the exact quote.

Is the AP inaccurate? Find the correction. Or are you saying Bork lied in his book?

"And then, for the first and only time, Nixon said to me, "You're next when a vacancy occurs on the Supreme Court." I don't know whether Nixon actually, but mistakenly thought that he still had the power to get me confirmed after the Massacre, or whether he was holding out the prospect in order to seal my continued loyalty. Whichever it was I did not think it was a promise that could be kept even if it was genuine. I hadn't the courage to tell him that I didn't think he could get anyone confirmed to the Supreme Court, and particularly not the person who fired Cox."

It's so funny that you don't realize every time you post something that has actual quotes from Bork, you hurt your argument. Also kind of sad.

And how am I hurting my argument, pray tell?
