Today is a good day to walk to Jersey Mike's:

The local beneficiary is pretty special to us:

Not a Jersey Mike's within 50 miles. Bastards.

My local Jersey Mike's is donating to something called the "Fellowship of Christian Athletes." Ugh.

Can I tell them to send my money to one of the Chicago stores instead?

FCA was big when I was in school. Always sponsored a trip or two each school year to a sporting event. First college football game I ever want to was an FCA trip.

I'm sure it's a great organization. But I'll choose children's hospitals or cancer research over it every time.

Any organization in your area is probably not worth it.

Dick's latest post about a PM is either masterful trolling or very sad.

Local children's hospital is the recipient here. I'll be picking up lunch at JM today.

Catching up on the thread and saw this post, so I wanted to respond to a couple of things.

North Korea's announcement that it had conducted a nuclear test in 2006, and its subsequent announcement that it had produced nuclear weapons, drew worldwide condemnation, including rebukes from President Bush, Stephen Harper, Tony Blair and Putin. Iran does not have nuclear weapons, as far as anyone knows, although they obviously continue to pursue them. The U.N. continues to sanction Iran and try to hinder its efforts to become a nuclear state. So I'm not really sure where you get that "North Korea and Iran get get nukes, and that's not a big deal." The international community is widely against the proliferation of nuclear weapons, so to have Trump suggest Japan and South Korea should build their own nuclear arsenal is irresponsible at best. It would spark a new nuclear arms race. So, yeah, that's pretty outrageous.

As for Saudi Arabia, does Trump not realize that we have not achieved energy independence? So threatening to halt the purchase of oil from Saudi Arabia is a foolhardy bluff at best and, if he were to actually do it, it would be disastrous. I think most people would agree with the sentiment that Saudi Arabia and other nations should contribute more, both financially and militarily, to the protections we provide. But saying we're just going to stop buying foreign oil demonstrates Trump's fundamental lack of knowledge of diplomacy and economics.

And if you listen to any of Trump's ramblings, it's obvious that Mitchell is correct.

I don't think Andrea Mitchell was trying to figure out Trump's appeal when she said he knows nothing about the rest of the world.

I can see the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children from my house!
