Gutless. If you think abortion is murder and should be outlawed, you at least should have the guts to admit that you think a woman who freely decides to have the procedure is a killer worthy of punishment. And that punishment would, in the conservative, evangelical worldview, have to be the death penalty.
To claim murder but refuse to own your position and the resulting blowback is the definition of wanting to have it both ways.
And this is clearly the Cruz position. He wants the government to label abortion as murder while weaseling out of an exceptionally unpopular position.

Not everyone believes life begins at conception.

Fair enough ... Baron would not permit an abortion in those last few seconds before the fetus ... wait, the clump of cells ... exits the birth canal. So he's not really pro-choice.

    That's irrelevant right now.

The question is: If one does believe that life begins at conception, then how is a rape and incest exception compatible with that belief?

Well, for one thing, God created sex for the purpose of procreation, didn't He?

If the sex is forced, do you support forced procreation?

So what advice would you give a rape victim who became pregnant?

Again: The argument proceeds from the assumption that life begins at conception.

How is a rape/incest exception compatible with that foundational belief?

If I were Ted Cruz or Donald Trump, the only morally consistent advice would be to carry the baby to term.

The foundational belief also includes sex is supposed to be for the purpose of procreation. How can that belief be compatible with accepting the product of forced procreation?
