Unless this is a dream sequence, I assume you are speaking about a specfic candidate with a specific close friend/worker who lied to the public about a specific thing.

Are we supposed to tape the Today Show so we can crack your code?

Oh. Well, the interview was with Trump, and involved the incident between his campaign manager and the Breitbart reporter.

But, it's the larger point I'm more impressed by. Lauer was offended that Trump would stand by him. I'm glad we will no longer accept a candidate who won't jettison those close to them when they've admitted to lying about the circumstances involved in an incident with a female accuser.

What's even worse about this case is that in denying the claim, they tried to ruin the reputation of the accuser. That really is unacceptable, isn't it?

It's almost like Trump is enabling this kind of behavior in his top aide.

So you're saying the incident really isn't about Trump then?

Larry Sabato's current electoral map in a Clinton-Trump matchup.

Trump gets swamped, but lots of folks are arguing that it's still generous to Trump in some of its projections.

I find the attitude refreshing. I hope Lauer and others will be consistent in applying it as a standard.

Hell, a Fox News poll (which I doubt they promoted very much at all) had Clinton beating Trump by 11 and Sanders beating him head-to-head by 17.

Larry is the very acme of conventional wisdom. Note that despite his saying Trump will get killed, he has exactly one state (North Carolina) won by Romney that flips to Clinton in 2016. Hardly a massacre. Political analysts are as loath to admit past voting patterns are in flux as NFL analysts are to admit that the team with the better quarterback doesn't always win.

Trump will have to marry his campaign manager to make it equivalent. But that's legal now, so nothing's stopping him.
