You know, he did a pretty good job of playing footsie with his words there, because the Supremes had already (I think) done away with a mental health exemption for partial-birth abortions.

To pull a YankeeFan, why haven't they come out and said that sex is for more than procreation? Why hasn't the media asked them about this stance? Why haven't they been asked if a pregnancy resulting from a rape is a gift from their deity or not? Why haven't they been asked that if it is a gift from their deity, then what Does that say about their deity who would give a gift through a violent act? Or, if it's not a gift from their deity, then why should they care if a raped woman terminates the pregnancy?

He said that he doesn't think late-term abortions should be legal based upon a "mental distress" exception.

That's not the same as "mental health," as in "mental illness."

It's simply not. There's nothing inconsistent or devious about his two statements. Absolutely nothing.

I don't believe partial birth abortion has been mentioned I've seen late-trimester abortion mentioned. Last I checked, there are three months in the late-trimester.

The religion also states that man was treated in G-d's image and he has dominion over every living thing. Not woman. Jesus was a man, not a woman. The Apostles were men, not women. Women are a living thing, therefore man has dominion over women. Women cannot rule.

Has the leading Democratic candidate been asked the same questions?

It seems like it was a tricky question for Obama in 2008, yet Hillary hasn't been pressed on it this cycle.

I said that it included love of spouse and love of the deity.

Do a Google search (Hi Hammond!) on how many websites have the question if the sole purpose of sex is procreation or not. You'll find a lot of websites. If so many sites need to devote bandwidth to answer the question, then the religion must not be doing a very good job of debunking that myth, right?

I know. How else are Republicans are going to decide whether to vote for her or not?

I didn't say there was an inconsistency. I said he was playing a rather skillful version of word footsie. He was restricting his comment to an area that had already been decided upon, and he could, with some credibility, take either a pro or con position (vis-a-vis what had been considered) in the future.

"My only point is that in an area like partial-birth abortion having a mental, having a health exception can be defined rigorously."

That really wasn't at issue, seeing as how the Supremes had already done away with a mental health exemption in the case of partial-birth abortion.

No, as I pointed out, twice on this thread now, a pretty good amount of women suffer some kind of depression due to the pregnancy, with 10 percent of women being severely depressed. Shouldn't they have all options on the table for their mental health anspd well-being?
