    This is actually a very good question, and one I've considered more than once in reading through the thread. Personally I might side with the baby but I defer to the family/doctors/current laws for now. I know that doesn't give the child a choice, but thankfully these instances are fairly rare, are they not? One of the toughest questions of this discussion for me.

    Please explain that to the Republicans the next time they use this exact type of argument to justify the obstructionist approach to the current Supreme Court nominee.

    Why? Republicans are the ones making the argument and DQ does lean conservative. I don't remember him using it in the discussion of Scalia's replacement, but plenty of others from that side of the aisle have done it here.
