I would, but like I said, Trump hasn't said anything stupid or hit another ball into the sand trap yet.

 

So now you have a stake in the race.

 

This is not the "gotcha" moment you think it is. I have been up front for months about jumping on various wagering opportunities when they arise. It's part of my analysis. The point is that I don't have a partisan or emotional investment in a candidate.

 

Kasich would be that guy, but having a guy that just won one state be your nominee would be a bad, bad look for the party.

Bottom line is, a lot of people are gonna leave Cleveland unhappy. They're better off just taking a lump with Trump.

 

It ain't gonna be Trump. They cannot and will not run him.

 

I don't think they can run any of this year's or passed years' (Romney, McCain) failed candidates, so the only one with any recognition is Ryan, I guess.

 

Ryan is young and still has eyes on running ( and winning) in the next 20 years or so. He'll be 62 in 2032 and 66 in '36, prime GOP candidate age. So he can certainly bide his time.

He's already somewhat damaged goods due to sharing the losing ticket in '12 with Mitt.

If he goes down to another defeat, this time at the top of the ticket, he stamps himself as a two-time loser, and his viability as a candidate in 20-24-28 and beyond pretty much disappears.

 

I saw several conservatives on Twitter actually apologize for their previous defense of Palin.

She's a train wreck.

 

She's incapable of completing sentences. He honestly can't think it's a good idea to keep rolling her out.
