Eww. You made the right call. And I'd have no problem eating that pie with a knife and fork. Critics be damned.

Short-lived "Irish" joint here had Shepherds Pie pizza. Not good. Dry potatoes make for a bad pie.

  3. Pretty hard to find Irish/English joints. They aren't exactly known, sought out for the food. Beer? Yes.
    Food? Not so much.

If ever in Houston, I suggest this place for English food (shitty website, great food: Nibbles | Red Lion British Pub).
I suggest the tandoori chicken quesadillas (which admittedly is a "fusion" type dish, but delicious).

Wait, tandoori chicken quesadillas are English food?

On a related note, Indian food is an abomination.

It's an English pub in Texas...so.... They have the traditional English stuff (fish and chips, bangers and mash, etc). It's all really good. But the tandoori chicken quesadillas are my favorite thing there.

I don't know about the rest of the country, but Irish restaurants are a thing in certain parts of Maryland.

Clearly not a candidate for the "Things we can all agree on" thread....I made chicken tikka masala last night and, to use technical parlance, it was amaze-balls.

I'll take urine in my food over curry.
