You won't find better fish & chips than at Ye Olde King's Head in Santa Monica. They have all the traditional UK stuff and their roast lamb in excellent. Unfortunately, it's the place to go for TV news crews to seek reaction whenever there is any sort of international incident.

The folks who own Murphy's Bleachers, across from Wrigley, also own this joint:

Irish Bistro | Mrs. Murphy and Sons Irish Bistro

It certainly has a bar, but it's a full on restaurant. Food is good. They have pub favorites, but go beyond that as well.

Been gone awhile, but this is the one thread I wanted to read through. And seeing the talk about "New York" delis reminded me of a place I enjoyed last week in Scottsdale, Ariz:

    Home - Chompies

The "Mile-High" sandwiches are unbelievably good. And if you somehow have room after that, there's a tremendous dessert counter about a half-mile long.

Can't believe I missed Chompies in all my previous trips to the Phoenix area. Go there!

There's an item on the menu called pork wings. What the hell are pork wings?

Not many people are ambivalent about curry, either love it or hate it.

My buddies dad served in the British Navy during WW2 and would not touch it because he said the cooks used it to cover up spoiled meat.

Personally I think I could eat Butter Chicken every day which is a British creation, not an Indian one. That said my city has many awesome Indian restaurants so I am pretty spoiled, love the cuisine.

Irish music - indifferent to, mostly okay. Best "Irish" music is The Pogues and Dropkick Murphys, neither from Ireland.
    Irish Whiskey - yes please.
Irish food - way down on the list.
Irish girls - always tons of fun when paths would cross while backpacking.

    Van Morrison is Irish?
Fuck, I thought he was from Muscle Shoals.

    Definitely a god, yes.
