And he really epitomizes what you get a lot from liberals on economic issues: They think that good intentions are enough. It's not a far trip from there to Trump's "great deals." Sanders got called on it.

 

Mark Halperin just said he "slipped up" in the interview, after characterizing the NYDN as pro-Hillary. He did say that she's held to a lower standard than Hillary, which might be true, but he's held to a much lower standard than Trump.

He's a dunce, and his voters are mostly college grads.

Trumps voters are put down as knuckle draggers.

Maybe we shouldn't give Bernie's supporters a pass.

 

It's just the audience they sell to. Trump sells tariffs and protectionism to laid-off factory workers. Sanders sells free tuition to recent college students and graduates and, to a lesser degree, parents in their 30s and 40s saving (lol) for college for their children.

 

Good intentions don't sell as well as unrepentant assholery in today's America.

 

Trump attracts knuckle draggers, left-behind stupid white people, racists, etc. Bernie attracts naive, young idealists who believe they're smart.

 

There's no reason to be so redundant or to repeat yourself.

 

Plenty of stupid white people support Hillary. Probably her most dependable voting bloc.

 

One thing this election cycle has shown is that there are more than enough stupid honkies to go around.

 

I think you probably are being overly generous to many of Trump's supporters, since one must have actually had a job to be classified as a laid-off worker. I suspect he does quite well among the lortab/disability set (Williamson, 2016) ...

 

To say Bernie Sanders has helped set Democratic party policy for 30 years is hilarious. He's been on the outside looking in for 30 years. Why the hell do you think he decided to run in the first place?

 

Yeah, Bernie has been able to hide out for 30 years in a state half the population can't name.
