    That slide wasn't *so* egregious.

    Nervous arm tic.

Slid past the base after intentionally contacting the fielder. Clearly against the rules.

    Nah, that's just super momentum.

Gibbons just hired Rainman as the Blue Jays' new dress designer.

Absolutely. I don't even think this was an Utley Rule call. Interfering with a fielder has been in the book forever.

Yes. Thought it was kind of ticky tack but he clearly violated the rule.

    Oop-
Once again, you're not looking at the big picture.
This was not a good free agent market this past winter.
Spending $130 million on 300-pound Johnny Cueto and $70 million on Ian Kennedy is asinine.
You called Happ an "important" part. He's a back-of-the-rotation starter.
You are not willing to view this rationally.

We get to debate abortion for 100 page, but we don't get to debate Tim Raines and Nomar Garciaparra? I was just about to note that ... well, I guess it's lost to the ages now.

You can say he went 7-2 with a 1.89 ERA in 63 innings with the Buccos -- so yeah, he pitched well for them -- but career numbers say it would have balanced out. He's a .500 pitcher with a 4.03 ERA and 1.38 ERA.

I don't want to hammer on the dude today because sometimes I do feel sorry for him, but he displays confirmation bias more than any poster on this site.
