Can't stand olives on their own. Too bitter. But I don't mind them as part of a supreme pizza or even mixed into some tomato sauce. The bitterness mixes well with other things, it's just too overwhelming for me on its own.

Denino's on Richmond Ave. in Port Richmond is, by far, the best pizza place on Staten Island.

Currently snacking on some green and red cerignolas as we speak. Love olives, but much prefer green/red to black (better texturally IMO) though both on pizza with some pepperoni, fresh basil and jalapeno is one of my favorite combos. Olives are love/hate, not much indifference to them. Mrs. Fly and Flyette are on the hate side, so I only get olives on my pizza while on the road alone for work.

Only thing olives are good for is to be pressed into oil.

We so much can eat as much as we want and not get heavy because of olive oil.

Freshly ground pepper has become important for me in recent years.

I have never been a big toppings on pizza person. Fresh garlic is pretty much the only one that I really like.

Something I recently read, and it makes sense. You judge a pizza place by its plain cheese pizza. Then, if it's good, add toppings to your liking.
