Bomani Jones makes statement on Indians logo with 'Caucasians' shirt

I used to like Bomani's writing when he was with Page 2, but he's now just another talking head with a schtick, and his latest stunt is to wear a T-shirt that says "Caucasians" in lieu of Indians as some sort of protest of the Indians' ongoing use of its racist nickname.

If a white sportswriter pulled a similar stunt and replaced Indians with something about black people, the hipster blogs would lose their collective shit and the guy or girl would get fired in record time. Is the Caucasians supposed to refer to the Indians owner, Larry Dolan?

This is race-baiting at its finest. But he's black, so it's cool or something.

I sent this out to some of my white friends (some of my best friends, actually!) and they all said they were honored.

The white man has been held back for too long.

Now, if it'd said "Crackers" or "Honkies" I would have laughed, bc those words are just inherently funny to me.

I find the success of Mike and Mike way more insulting than that shirt.

Have to respect that he waited for a relatively slow news day to break this one out. Shrewd.

You're offended by the caricature of a white person, but not the redfaced character of a Native American?

Pretty sure I wrote, "the Indians' ongoing use of its racist nickname."

Indians and Redskins are totally racist names and should not be used.

Yes, keep Chief Wahoo but get rid of the Indians nickname...
