Maybe instead of just honoring the 25th anniversary of the 1991 teams that met in the World Series, they just let the guys from those teams play this two game series.

The Jays have one guy hitting .063 (Collabello) ahead of a guy hitting .074 (Martin).

Jesus Christ. He gets Collabello but walks Martin. Pillar reaches on a bouncer off third (second time he bounced one off a bag tonight) and then Donaldson hits it to Mars.

    3-2 Jays.

So it's safe to say Ian Kennedy was the steal of the offseason, huh.

Velasquez and Garcia both posted Bill James "game scores" of 97 yesterday. It's only the third time in baseball history that two pitchers posted scores of 97 or more on the same day in a nine-inning game:

A rarity: Velasquez, Garcia post 97 game scores

Phillies have a pretty strong future on the mound with Velasquez, Eickoff, and Nola, and Hellickson isn't a bad arm to have around for another 3 to 5 years.

They made out like bandits on some of those fire sale trades, that's for sure.

And yet he's struck out less than 7 batters per 9 IP in his career. His fastball is 98 mph, but straight as a string.

Most guys like that get made into relievers eventually.

Actually, his fastballs are moving big-time this year. Stronger breaking ball. He fucking got squeezed hard last night. Ump wouldn't let him paint. Got unlucky and then Donaldson went KABOOM!

He's a bulldog though. Very little fazes him out there.
