I know how ridiculous this sounds after two innings, but Kershaw has 27-in-a-row stuff right now.

    He has thrown 19 pitches.

Since the Twins can't play like a competent major league baseball team, they figured they might as well dress like one?

LOL. And Bumgarner breaks up the perfecto! (One out into the third inning.) Wounded duck with the left fielder playing back to respect his power.

    Never mind.

Lot of pressure on the Twins now that the Braves won.

Eh, it didn't cost them much.

That's pretty pricey for the cost of a hat in Cooperstown.

(Yes, I know the player no longer gets to choose, but he'll have accomplished most of his career resume in Arlington by the time he retires.)

Pirates relied on Locke for 168.1 crappy innings last year, 131.1 crappy innings in 2014, and 166.1 crappy innings in 2013. They've made the playoffs all three years. He's dragging them down like a 10,000-pound anchor.

Meanwhile, the sky-is-falling Pirates were 3-6 after nine games last year.

Bartolo Colon gave up two runs in 5 1/3 innings Friday in a 6-5 win over the Indians.

Advice: He now has 219 career wins, which ties him with Pedro Martinez for the second-most ever by a Dominican-born pitcher.

This isn't the sky is falling because of their start. I was saying the Pirates are being overrated by people who are blinded by their past success and don't see the flaws in the roster before the season.

    Let's give it a month.
I would think a team like this would charm the sabermetricians.
They are not that far different from the Moneyball A's.

We can give it the whole year. They'll win the number they win.

Being the 7th best team in the NL with their budget is reasonably impressive, especially when combined with their past success. And they don't have zero chance.

But they aren't better on paper than the Cubs, Nats, Giants, Mets or Dodgers, and I'd give the Cardinals a small edge too.
