I don't think that's been his message at all, that he's a "details guy." Quite the contrary. He's been pretty consistent in conceding that he doesn't know what he's talking about, but he's going to surround himself with experts who do, and that he's more of a "big picture"/closer type.

I agree with you, Dick. "Top people" is one of his key phrases, probably in the top five of his descriptions of a Trump administration.

Surrounding yourself with the right people is kinda important. President is not newspaper editor. You can't micromanage the job.

I don't disagree, but Batman's post was a total mischaracterization of what even Trump claims is his strength.

Another "gotcha" that won't stick because Trump will either not address or face head on and turn into a strength.
One of Romney's downfalls was trying to address all of the "gotcha's". Take wealth as
an example. Romney was constantly trying to play his down while Trump has embraced
his wealth and not made apologies for it.

This is the way we do things. Candidates say ridiculous things and promise they have a way to fix every problem anyone's ever encountered in the last hundred years. They get into office and realize they're pretty much powerless to do anything on their own. Then we repeat the process every four years.

Yawn; largely, these candidates aren't any different then all the others that come down the pike.

Only way to win is to drive Hillary's unfavorables even higher.

Thankfully, the more voters are exposed to her, the less they like her:
