Am I reading this right? Arkansas has been swamped by the costs of its version of Medicaid expansion under Obamacare, but its Republican governor is trying to cobble together some lifeline for the program. The trouble is some recently elected Tea Party types, who can use super-majority rules to prevent its re-funding. However, the governor is arguing for a play that involves: 1) going ahead and passing legislation to defund it; 2) using his line-item veto to overrule the legislature on the defunding portions; then 3) allowing a mere majority to uphold the veto, effectively re-funding the program. The governor, needing to count on Democrats' support of the initial legislation, promises he will defend them should it come to that.

Sheesh, and here I thought Obamacare itself was byzantine!

Actually, I'm a bit surprised, in keeping with the tradition of African dictators or Marxist demagogues, that he hasn't started renaming cities, or at least the capital city.
