Trump will keep his 40% base, but when you expand that out to the general electorate it becomes something like 20%.

It won't be the Goldwater map exactly, but it might be close. A lot of states that have voted red solidly since 1964 will be in play.

Before Trump, was Eisenhower the last nominee of a major party who had never held public office?

I'm not sure if it will be a blowout or not. But I'm pretty sure Clinton has a floor above 50.1

The Official Candidate of Jesus Christ, meanwhile, kicked off his 2020 campaign tonight. He apparently couldn't hear the voices of disdain from his own party.
Love how he said he was committed to equal rights for all. Except, you know, gays and blacks and Hispanics and Muslims and Jews and the poor.
The deep bench of the GOP still kicks ass in flyover state legislatures, but its showing in the POTUS contest is a joke.

Only in America could a President who led the world's largest army be described as having no political experience.

Lincoln probably had the least political experience of any president. One term in the House and lost a Senate race.
