For the record, Fiorina set the record. Seven days. Eagleton lasted 18.

Lincoln was a well-connected corporate lawyer. Actually, the closest parallel to him is Willkie.

The way Trump is talking up Cruz, it almost sounds like he might be the VP pick, which would make Carly the vice Vice President.

And you have just won the Nobel Prize for political analysis. Trump treated the campaign as a reality show popularity contest with the only object, to win. He won. In a fragmented market he won. It's why his tv show was a a success. It was one of the biggest slice of the tv pie. But there were 100 slices. Trumps was minuscule but bigger than the next.
He has no substance, no history of success, no aptitude for leadership. But he won, and that impressed you and millions of other dumpfuck americans

Donald Trump knows a few things about human nature. He does, and he played on them in debates - and, more importantly, afterward.

Trump relied on debates for days in campaign stops and in media interviews. He successfully conveyed the weaknesses of others into critiques that, while we may not have appreciated, others heard. And he goaded other candidates - aside from Carson, who's full of shit - down into the gutter with him. Ted Cruz is an asshole - a funny asshole, at times - and Trump got Cruz to reveal that, a lot. Marco Rubio stooped it, too.

A two-person debate isn't going to bring the inherent chaos that Trump dominated.

Why would he spend any money when he was GIVEN over $2 billion fucking dollars in FREE MEDIA COVERAGE by a fawning fellatio-fest corporatist right wing MSM?

And that'll be $10 billion by November.

It'll be like Darth Vader vs. Carrot Top in a light saber battle.

If Trump's smart, he won't even agree to a debate. Nothing to gain and everything to lose.

I'll say it again: Trump is the Tebow of politics.

I'm not writing anything everyone doesn't already know, but he's not going to get more "presidential" now that he'll be the nominee, it's going to get uglier. Much uglier. Unlike most politicians who won't go "there" (think McCain standing up to the woman who said Obama was a Muslim a week before the election) Trump has no qualms about living in the mud, much less flinging it. I bet you before November he refers to Clinton as:

    1. A bitch
    2. A lesbian
    3. A fat ugly cow who Bill couldn't help step out on
    4. A See U Next Tuesday (this will be a hot mike moment)
    5. Vince Foster's murderer

It's going to be so, so awful. There will be a weekly debate over whether the GOP should goad Ryan or Romney into running as a third party candidate just to save some dignity, like a suicide mission that will hand Hillary the presidency but perhaps help the party survive the horrible misogyny and xenophobia that's about to be front and center. All the horrible racism that's been bubbling in the comment section of every Fox News story about President Obama will quickly morph into misogyny. It's going to be so hard to watch. It's going to make people hate politics so much more than they already do. Trump is going to drag every chat room rumor, every story about the Clintons that's 1 percent truth and 99 percent falsehood, and burp them into the national consciousness. Every angry white dude who has failed at anything in life will project his disappointments onto Hillary Clinton, and Trump will love every minute of the swill.

She's going to be our next president. She'll probably be fine at the job, albeit with her share of scandal because the Clintons are nothing if not habitual line steppers.

But getting to November is going to feel like crawling a marathon on broken glass. Delete every person you went to high school with on Facebook right now.
