Trump has been given a free pass by his so-called competitors for more than a year now. That's going to change, and his favorability ratings will erode even further, once the Democratic campaign machines crank into action.

Women will know how misogynist he is.
Working class men will know just how many of them he's laid off.
People of color will know just how much he loathes them.

 

Except once he wins and actually, you know, has to do the job for four years.

 

I think there's a pretty wide space available for him to maintain the best parts of his personality while still projecting competence.

 

This is all already known. It's exactly why his supporters support him.

 

You mistake Republican primary voters for the general public.
