Why do those whose jobs were off-shored need something different/new in the way of training? Or, to put it another way, what is it about current training programs that fails those whose jobs were offshored?

Simply the nature of their jobs, right? The training didn't necessarily fail them. They may be ace machinists or assembly-line workers. But an ace machinist or assembly-line worker in Mexico or Bangladesh will do the job for 1/10th the price. They need training in jobs that are less off-shorable.

It's not so easy to switch jobs if you're 50, have done one job your whole life, and the only company in your town that needs you moves away. What jobs are not offshoreable, anyway? Or even more to the point, not automatable?

One thing for sure is that Hrrump has given the media way more access
than Hillary has been willing to provide. So far Hrrump has embraced and used
the media to his advantage. Hillary and her handlers have limited media accessed
to very controlled events. Just offering the greater access may curry media favoritism
and force Hillary out of her comfort zone.

Guys with a high school education or less that are digging coal have nothing else they can move to that offers anything near the same wages. People who were working in low skills textile jobs that went offshore largely ditto. It is worth investing some money in helping people identify jobs that they have a preference and aptitude for and training them up, as they will then be taxpaying wage earners rather than needing government assistance.

She's fucked that up so bad that she's ahead of him by 14 points in the latest nationwide polling.

It's a double-edged sword with Trump, and he knows it. There's a reason he's been avoiding "the shows" lately.

A lot of us here have changed careers.

Anyone do it with the help of a government job training program?

What do you mean avoiding the shows? He was on every network yesterday from dawn to dusk.

Well, yeah, now that he has the nomination secured. He went into hiding when things were briefly precarious.
