I have yet to find poo-TEEN that I actually loved. It seems like a no-brainer that I would LOVE it, but the places in my town that have tried it have been lacking in the execution, I think. It doesn't seem that complicated.

This is a new one on me, but I admit that since I'm not a dessert guy, I might have missed old news. Walking down the frozen foods aisle of the local supermarket, I saw pints of Yuengling's ice cream. Same logo, but no gimmicks. Regular ice cream flavors. Kind of weird cross-branding.

Nathan's celebrating 100th anniversary with nickel hot dogs, but only for three hours (11 am - 2 pm) on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend at Coney Island, so good luck getting near one. They otherwise cost $4.25, so obviously the deal isn't worth the subway ride and the associated aggravation.

I'm entering a local cooking competition next month. Winner gets to have their appetizer at local brew pub for a month.

The appetizer must feature chicken. I plan to use chicken and bacon. Any thoughts on what to serve?

I'm thinking shredded chicken/bacon/mashed potato/cheese balls that are breaded and fried ... but that's just an early idea.

Not a bad idea. What, stuff bacon inside the skin then deep fry?

Can't remember where I found the recipe for a chicken pesto quesadilla, but it's a favorite, as is a three-cheese and chicken enchilada. Quesadilla is faster; enchilada has a sauce on it, so it's not exactly finger food.

    But, good luck!
