"Play ball with us" = we pick the teams, we write the rules, we keep score.

Or face consequences.

World is getting pretty tired of playing "Heads you win, tails I lose" with America.

 

"Play ball with us or we'll stick the bat up your ass".

 

The world is fine with playing "heads I win, tails you lose" with us because we have carefully engineered a situation over decades where that is the status quo and upsetting that would cause a lot of problems for everyone. We have positioned ourselves as too big to fail.

Trump coming along and threatening to blow it up because of the delusion that we aren't getting a fair share would be legitimately dangerous if not for the near impossibility of him winning.

 

Just saw a graphic on NBC that Trump is trailing by a wider margin than any nominee since Dole.

 

And this is after he's been given kid-glove treatment by his competitors for the past 12 months.

 

It'll narrow. I could see it getting to 51-49 on Election Day. Someone, probably Rasmussen, will have an October poll that has him slightly ahead.

But he will almost certainly lose.
