I've truly enjoyed watching Bill Kristol go off he deep end the last week or so.

I'm not saying it because he didn't get a majority of the vote. I'm saying it because we have polling data that says slightly more than half of Republican primary voters actively disliked him, an incredibly and unprecedentedly high number.

The list of GOP politicians endorsing Trump and the list of those holding back are fascinating.

For a lot of the endorsers, who are otherwise as mainline as they come, it seems to be party unity über alles as their motivation. The non-endorsers may be the ones who end up bolting to form a GOP Shelbyville.

It is early but the Trump is left with the same scenario Romney faced. He has to win Ohio and Florida, with either Virginia or every swing state.

With the exception of Wisconsin, if he ever flies west of the Mississippi after the convention, it's a waste of time.

If he flies west of the Mississippi, he's not in Wisconsin.

And that, in a nutshell, explains so much about me.

Didn't see it, but Chris Cuomo looks pretty weak in this transcript:

    They need to talk policy.

And he starts out in a 15-point hole in Florida. And not the kind of 15-point hole where nobody knows him and he can make it up with improved recognition. The kind where a heavy majority of the state already have a strong negative opinion of him.

And without Florida, there is no path to 270 without living in GOP Magical Christmas Land like flipping Pennsylvania.

It all comes back to the path Trump took to the nomination not being some brilliant shortcut nobody ever thought of. Everyone else was just smart enough not to take it because it is a dead end for the general.

If Cuomo wants to talk policy, talk policy. Don't give a stump speech about why Trump shouldn't talk about whatever he's talking m. Just ask about a policy.

Of course, this might make for boring TV.
