A lot of careful references here to an "undisclosed illness" for which he had been taking medication:

    Concerning. Very concerning.

    Um ... I love Prince.

But it seems pretty clear, when you include the tabloid smoke, what was going on.

    So what?

Are you arguing that the media shouldn't report on the circumstances of his life, health, and death? If you are, that's a fair argument, but I can't tell if that's what you're arguing.

The media will report it either way.

Yokel-driven screech radio, the type which was outraged because Prince got a bigger media sendoff (and of course more notice from Obama) than Merle Haggard, has been grumbling and grousing about this for a couple weeks now, "you just wait how big a hero everybody thinks Prince is when the TROOOTH about his death comes out."

As if the truth of his death is suddenly going to convert him posthumously into some demonic fiend.

I am not part of that crowd. In fact, that stuff didn't even enter my orbit. My wife mentioned it in passing because she's a habitual reader of story comments, but that's about as far as it went. I saw that YF spent a couple of pages trying to politicize Prince's death, but I don't think anyone took the bait. I'm not sure why some on the right considered him a symbol of the political left in any way, but I digress. At least I know why you were pissy now, this morning.

Back to the topic: I certainly don't think it tarnishes Prince's legacy if he indeed had HIV or AIDS. I'm not even sure it would have had anything to do with his death. But it's part of the story at this point, so it'll be nice to just get it confirmed either way instead of all this hinting around it that's going on, as if it's still 1984.

You were posting Tweets about how #BlackLivesMatters types were Tweeting ... I really don't know. But some racial strife was going on.

If Prince died of either drug abuse or AIDS it's mainly sad because these days it's very unnecessary, especially for someone with a lot of money.

If he died of AIDS partially a result of his religion forbidding him to undergo medical treatments, it's even more sad.

In any case I don't think it indicates Prince was some secret evil fiend deserving of our scorn, as many on screech radio seem to.

Oh. That was just some folks who didn't appreciate how white people were mourning his death.

They were upset with anyone who referred to him as bi-racial and didn't appreciate anyone who called him post-racial.

I considered it more stupid than political.

What radio are you listening too?

I listen to right wing radio, and this isn't a topic.
