Two avowed (and legitimate) pragmatists about to spend six months trying to paint the other as "dangerous."

    Can't wait.

The model felt "debased" at the pool party. But went on to publicly date him.

It was suggested to her that she put on a swimsuit -- at a pool party!

    The horror.

It makes us vulnerable. A nation with our economic might should NEVER be vulnerable to debts owned by other nations.

"Money is cheap" only because we have artificially made it so. I would gladly take my 401(k) and put it in the account I had back in the early 1990s that was paying me 6 percent interest. If only we would allow interest rates to be where the market says they should be.

People need to stop with this insipid "market-determined interest rates are bad" mentality.

Or you could recognize that just about every reputable economist predicted an "L" shaped recovery, which is exactly what we've experienced, that we have had the fourth longest expansion in history and that the US economy has outperformed the world since the economic crisis.

    Vulnerable to ... what exactly????

What does the "market say" the interest rates should be?

This might be your dumbest post ever.

    1. It was stated out front that she hadn't intended to swim.

    2. You really think you wanna put on a pair of bikini bottoms THE PIG just happens to have sitting around in one of his dresser drawers?

    3. I'd say the odds are really really good that any time any remotely decent looking chick takes her clothes off in any house owned by The Pig, probably a dozen hidden cameras are snapping off thousands of frames for his personal spank collection -- not to mention video.

If people didn't want to loan the US so much money by buying bonds, interest rates would be higher no matter what. Also, most US debt is still owned by US individuals and organizations, especially Social Security, which is only allowed to put its funds in Treasuries.

    Reflective of inflation.

I had a $10,000 CD in 1991. It was worth $13,500 in 1996, easily outperforming inflation ($11,519, according to the CPI).

I just closed an $8,500 CD a couple of months ago. It didn't earn me $50 total over the past five years. Yet inflation says that $8,500 should have grown to $9,000.

Bad investing on your part. Interest rates are exactly where they should be. Inflation has been negligible, well below the 2 pct target rate.

This is, simply put, one of the dumber things Obama has ever been talked into.

The man's weakness is that he falls for dumbass emotional appeals - from his wife, his team of advisors, from pop culture, from whomever - that have so little bearing on the day to day operations of America, and so much potential confusion and latent fury.

Local schools are managing this issue with, oh, a 98.8 percent effectiveness rate. Leave it alone.

It's almost like that wasn't a license for him to do and say whatever he wanted to her.
