Which is hard to do, since America has been in some kind of conflict for 219 of its 239 years.

 

Kind of a meaningless story. I read it this morning. Measured in real terms -- deaths, injuries, troops on the ground, dollars spent -- the Obama administration has cut back the country's "war" involvement significantly. I'm more than ok with that.

 

Is America safer today, than when Obama took office, as a result of his actions?

 

Trump has pulled even with Clinton in support from their own party.

I didn't expect Never Trump to make it to November, but it didn't even make it two weeks.

 

Tricky question.

It's entirely possible we are "less safe" by a factor of .0000000000001 "safety units" (or whatever one uses to measure safety).

But if we've had fewer deaths, fewer deployments and less money wasted on bombs and bullets and blowing shit up . . . it's probably worth it.

 

Meh ... it could easily be the case that America is less (or more) safe today and that fact has NOTHING to do with his actions.

 

Don't know about today, but through yesterday we've had exponentially fewer Americans killed by terrorists and enemy combatants both inside and outside our borders during this administration than the previous one. We've spent far less money, too.

 

Truman was a better war president than FDR ... far fewer Americans were killed in action under his presidency. [/sheeselouise]
