Still wrong. He took a hard punch and shook it off.

Out on his feet? Maybe for half a second, which is nothing.

The whole thing with Fielder was hilarious. The pitcher just walked off the mound like he'd finished the inning and didn't even bother acknowledging his ejection. Russell Martin is bouncing around like a hyena trying to head off any trouble. And when the Rangers did start to walk out of the dugout, Fielder just smiled, gave them the stop sign and was like, "It's cool, guys. I got this. Ain't no thing" while he smiled at Martin.

How funny is it that arguably the two greatest moments in Rangers history involve one of their players beating the crap out of an opponent?

Beating the crap out of an opponent? He gave him his best on the chin and didn't knock him down.

LOL ... only among sportswriters/ex-sportswriters can one actually be accused of being "wrong" in such a matter. Anyway, I'll drop by fangraphs later on and see how the punch actually measured up. I suspect it scored pretty high on the aPV/sPV ratio* ...

How long before Odor gets an endorsement deal from Hawaiian Punch?

I have seen a lot (including on here) about Odor being lucky that the fight didn't go on because he would have gotten destroyed. I don't get that. He's a pretty solid 200 pounds, and we know he can actually throw a punch.

Baseball has a lot of fake tough guys in its history. Odor seems like an actual tough guy. If he met Bautista or Donaldson in the parking lot after the game, I'd put $100 on him.

That's one of the things I found sort of amusing about yesterday's proceedings. It brought to mind this lightweight boxer we sort of covered back in my first newspaper gig. He'd taken his son to a college football rivalry game and bought his son a pennant for the visiting team. Some big badass, not knowing who he was fucking with, grabbed the pennant and broke it. Our guy calmly said, look, I bought that for my son, you're going to buy him another one. Etc., etc. ... He beat the shit out of that dude.

I do find it funny that all of this was started by Matt Bush.
