I figured Gonzalez would at least make it to the All-Star break. He isn't the reason the Braves are a dumpster fire this season, but he definitely hasn't done much with the better rosters he has had.

The Phillies really fucked up by moving away from that color purple. It's a dope shade.

This is as much about the 2nd-half collapses in 2014 and 2015 as it was about this year. And he'd have been gone by next season anyway.

The interesting part is elevating Gwinnett manager Brian Snitker to interim. They already have a former MLB manager on staff in 3B coach Bo Porter.

Figured it would be Porter or bullpen coach Eddie Perez, but Porter is staying where he is and Perez is now first base coach. They moved Terry Pendleton from first base coach to bench coach to replace Carlos Tosca, who was also fired.

Yeah I figured it would be Perez taking the interim tag, also. Snitker was a surprise.

Do we think this is at all a tryout for Snitker to get called up next season?

Could be, or a reward for his not griping when they moved him down from the big league staff a couple of years ago.

Rumor a couple of weeks ago was Bud Black was likely to be the guy next year. He's currently in the front office for the Angels.

Losing 2 of 3 to the 2016 Royals would do that.

I watched all 13 innings of Sunday's game, hoping for the small solace I would get from this terrible team taking a series from the defending World Champs on the road. But once Grilli came out of the bullpen, I knew my hopes were soon going to be sent over the center field wall.

Jason Grilli is still around 16 years after he made his major league debut, and that's after five years at the beginning of his major league career that he looked like a complete washout.

    That's amazing.

Yeah, he came up with the Marlins as a flame-throwing young starter around the same time as Josh Beckett and AJ Burnett, and a couple of years before Dontrelle Willis. Never figured he'd be the last one standing from that group.

I don't know, man, you get come upon and defend yourself with the punch of a lifetime and have to sit 8 games. Toopid.

About what I expected. I'm anxious to see what the other actors get.
