Exactly. Emptied the notebook and added a couple bells and whistles.

Haven't read the story as yet, but any discussion about RG's career by a site with this operating credo is remiss in not mentioning rob kings comment. King got shitcanned by ESPN no less.

Sadly, I think you're waaaaay off on this. Remember Cam's Dab after scoring a touchdown? More than once, I saw him called a "thug" for that dance. The Charlotte Observer ran a letter from a woman who said her 9 year old daughter was so saddened and horrified by the dance that she simply assumed Newton had no mother to teach him right from wrong.

Cam Newton's "blackness" absolutely freaks out a hell of a lot of people.

Nice to have one place to find all of the black talent at ESPN. I have missed that since Page 2 closed.

No 9-year-old is saddened by that.

There is no "blackness" in sports.

Never understood how Newton was held up as some kind of standard bearer for blackness. Because of dabbing? He smiles a lot and calls himself Superman, just about the whitest super hero there is. His touchdown stuff obviously rankles some people, especially when it's paired with him sulking like a baby when stuff doesn't go right. Gonna be interested to see how he responds to all the negative super bowl criticism.

People were absolutely "saddened and horrified" by Allen Iverson's blackness.

The sad thing is he was exactly the type of player Philadelphia loved, but most of the time, they were too busy calling him a thug to notice.

The doc of him was terrific. Had not realized the context of his "we talking about practice" quote. Might have been the worst instance I've ever seen of an athlete's quote being taken out of context. Fwiw, he was upset bc his best friend had died and he was angry that people wanted to talk about practice, not that he didn't need to practice

Blackness or just a funny dude explaining the essence of watermelon? (Think twice before you answer)

Can't have this kind of discourse anymore. Petey and Blackface Stern.
