If Hillary outsources her VP pick to "The Nation" like McCain outsourced his to the National Review, all will be even.

Dick, the political scientists issue warnings not to pay attention to single polls and to look at averages and that polling's predictive power gets weaker the further away an event is all the time. They've done so since 2015. They did it continually in 2012 as well. No one pays attention unless they wish to score a point, but that's not their fault.

Nate Silver rips Trump-Clinton polls in 8-part Twitter rant

"For f--k's sake, America. You're going to make go on a rant about general election polls -- in May?" the editor in chief of FiveThirtyEight wrote as part of a tweetstorm on Tuesday.

Silver said Clinton has an about 6 percent lead over Trump nationally, but cautioned: "It's early. Trump could win. Also, he could lose in a landslide." He added that Trump's presumptive nomination and Clinton's ongoing battle with Bernie Sanders could be having an effect — "We'll know more in June."

Perhaps someone should tell Mr. McLaughlin the history of the Election of 1800. It was quite the mess and led to the 12th Amendment regarding presidential and vice presidential elections.

At one point, Jefferson and Burr both were trying for the presidency, and Hamilton gave his support to Jefferson, believing Tom was the lesser of two evils. Jefferson also didn't like Burr very much, either.

So, it's like the baseball standings? Don't pay attention until Memorial Day?
