    Chomsky is wrong. It may be a meaningless slogan, but people believe in it anyway. For the Broncos-Seahawks Super Bowl, I was in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., one of the most Republican places there is, which at its income level is only right. That was the year where they had the big deal soldier reunion in his home town Bud Light ad. Being pretty drunk at a party, I said. "the best way to honor our troops is not to send them out to get killed in any more stupid wars." Expecting conflict, I got none. There were only solemn nods. Americans are more aware of the ambiguities of our foreign presence than professional ideologues of the left or right give us credit for.

    Priebus has always struck me as a Hoover from Animal House type.
