But not as bad as Conger throwing out 1 of the last 50 base stealers, and he just dropped the ball standing up trying to nab Maybin.

Bases loaded, 1 out, Tigers down 3, McCann to the plate.

    RBI single.

And I own both of them (Gomez, Fielder) in separate fantasy leagues! You can guess how well my teams are doing.

    Rays change pitchers.

On the first pitch, Iglesias hits into 5-4-3.

Nobody gives a damn about your fantasy team!

(But yeah, that sucks. I finally gave up on Gomez and cut him right before he went on the DL. Damn Astros.)

Actually, I'm not sure what to think of Gomez. He suffered that rib injury weeks before he landed on the DL. Did the Astros make a big mistake by not putting him on the DL when it happened? Or is he not really hurt that bad, but they wanted an opportunity to give him a break and a rehab assignment to try to fix his swing?

Speaking of injuries, the Rangers activated Shin-Soo Choo from the DL today after he had missed six weeks due to a calf injury. He managed to draw a couple of walks before being removed from the game with a tight hamstring. Ouch.

The Cubs saw 28 pitches against Jake Peavy in the top of the first and didn't score.

And in the bottom of the inning Heyward hits wall head-on snagging a Span drive in triples alley.

EDIT: Looks like a hip injury.

Guess now we'll just watch for the no-hitter.

    Arrieta through one.

I was telling you these things about Gomez two years ago. You laughed at me.
