WaPo puts quotation marks around "enabler" when recounting Trump's use of the term in regards to Hillary:

They put quotes around it because they are quoting Trump. If they didn't, then they would be calling her an enabler, which would be editorializing in a straight news story.

If you actually knew anything about the media, you would know that already.

YF knows more than enough about the media to know that the WaPo's edging into editorializing with its quote marks here. This sentence -- "Baron Scicluna has charged that YF is ignorant of the ways of the media" -- is no more editorializing than this one -- "Baron Scicluna has charged that YF is 'ignorant' of the ways of the media."

The first sentence is the writer putting the word "ignorant" into the speaker's mouth. The second sentence is the speaker actually saying the word.

With the first sentence, I could claim that the writer misconstrued my remarks on the matter. Maybe I didn't mean "ignorant." Maybe I meant something else. But with the second sentence, there is no misconstruing because the writer actually used my quote.

When three different investigations rule a death is a suicide, it's a suicide.
