Explain this to me like I'm a second-grader

Actually, it wouldn't be me driving the expectations of information, it would be the government. They obviously let the expectations for their information and security slide, instead of being extremely strict about it.

And part of that is human nature. When they're dealing with a lot of things on their plate, they're going to let slide what they perceive to be minor stuff. Of all the things Clinton was concerned about during her time as Secretary of State, I'd imagine that the email system was probably No. 43,674 on her list of concerns. As long as there was a system that worked when she wanted to use it, she probably didn't give much of a fuck about it.

I'm not sure to put this here or the Golf thread, but anyhoo: speaking of emails, on the very day of the IG report, Trump's campaign accidentally sends an email to a Politico reporter, asking them to get some research for the Clinton Whitewater "scandal". His campaign adviser and the reporter share the same last name, although they're not related.

I'd hate to see what happens when Trump's people are entrusted with classified emails.

Vom: You'll never, ever get Baron to admit someone or something he supports could be in the wrong.

You need to stop reading far-right sites such as PBS.org.

I didn't say she wasn't wrong. She herself has said she was wrong.

What I did say is that, in levels of wrong, with 1 being practically legal and 10 being drawn and quartered at dawn for treason, this is about a 1.8. At worst, an employee might get written up at their job. At best, you're sitting in a group meeting watching a video.

Obama must be doing a great job with the economy, health care and education, since the Repubs have spent more time worrying about this, Benghazi and Planned Parenthood than anything else.

That's probably why she went to all that trouble to get her own private system set up ...

How much trouble would it be?

"Hey Huma, can you get someone to set up a private server in my home office? You know, make sure there's enough security and all that stuff, so I can get my emails through my Blackberry. Thanks."

The fact she was told Blackberry devices are not secure should have been the first clue she was doing something wrong.

Do we need a lesson on choices and consequences like a little kid gets from hu's parents?

Of course she knew what she was doing was wrong. She wanted to evade FOIA queries and spent money and time setting up a system that would let her do just that. It's foolish to even argue over it.

Plausble deniability. Not nuch trouble making a seemingly innocuous request.

    Smarter people also understand context.

And yet, she asked for a more secure Blackberry device and was denied.

Security for Blackberries must not have been high on NSA's priority list, so why should it have been for Hillary?
