Both trying to score cheap political points against Hillary by bringing up a Trump-Sanders debate.

On Bernie's part it looks at least as desperate as Cruz tapping Fiorina. And Trump had nothing to gain from it. Trump did Bernie a Yuuuge favor by finally saying no.

 

Ehhh I don't see what Bernie had to lose. Taking televised shots at Trump wasn't going to hurt his standing on the left.

 

Trump should have done it - if only to goad Clinton and gum up the works.

So if the attempt to get Bin Laden went horribly wrong, sort of like Carter's attempt to rescue the hostages in Iran, Obama would have deserved the blame for it but when it went right, as it did, he deserves no credit?

 

Yup; as you may recall, among the 6.02 x 10^23 things they bitched at Obama about every day was that he hadn't brought Osama to justice, until the day he did. It was usually ascribed to him being a fellow Mooslim.

Then when OBL finally was turned into hamburger, suddenly they all discovered a refreshing new concern as to whether we had properly observed the human rights of terrorism suspects.

 

Bringing him to justice and killing him aren't the same thing.
