True. No coach is going to take that thing on long-term until they know what they fallout will be.

This is the 2016 version of Forrest Gregg coaching SMU after the death penalty.

Ehhh, I saw it more as upping the "good guy" quotient instead of putting the guy who insisted a player on trial for rape would be back any day now at the podium.

Baylor seems to be getting the housecleaning it needs.

But in my experience, it is not at all uncommon on campuses when an athlete is accused of rape for the coaches to step in, encourage the victim not to press charges and promise to take care of it themselves.

Hope this puts an end to that practice.

Jim Grobe is a great guy and a great coach. I'll root for him to win enough to make himself a viable contender for a place without Baylor's sanctimonious nonsense and typical right wing contempt for women.

Was wondering how long this would take.

It will never happen in Texas or maybe anywhere else but first there was the Patrick Dennehy murder and the Dave Bliss cover up and now this.

Baylor belongs in the Big 12 about as much as a Baptist in a brothel. I think the school should go D II. No amount of money is worth these embarrassments.

Baylor should stick to its original, laudable mission of offering a good, conservative Baptist education while also being a good research university. Athletics only detracts from that because of the compromises necessary to be competitive.

Don't forget the preservation of a fundamental contempt for women. That's key, I'm told.

Would you believe there are people in this world who think of Baylor as too liberal?

I don't recall whether I've told this story here, but the daughter of one of my wife's bosses was touring Baylor in a big group. They were riding along in a bus with the typical guide-with-a-microphone bit, and during a lull the guide asked "Are there any questions?" The boss's daughter asks, "Yeah, where are all the bars?" She wound up going somewhere other than Baylor.

Sad to say, but they've got a football stadium they still need to pay off.
