I guess I can understand if somebody served in Vietnam or knew somebody served, especially if they didn't come back, and they still hold a grudge, though after almost half a century, they really need to get over themselves.
What I can't understand is how they're willing to overlook Donald Trump, Dick Cheney, Rush Limbaugh or Ted Nugent avoiding service.
What Ali did, he did out of principle. What they did, they did because they were selfish assholes who coudln't be bothered.

There were legal ways to do things and illegal ways to do things. That being said, I don't begrudge Ali for not going, and he did pay a price for it.

 

What was Ali's principle?

Was it Pacafism?

Show us in his words why he refused to serve in Vietnam. You might learn something.
