You never got the email. You just typed the exact same incorrect things in the exact same order with the exact same grammatical error.

DQ is correct. A thousand percent correct. The president's "commander in chief" power doesn't work that way. It would also validate every single "unwarranted" fear about the government coming for their guns that those "white male losers" have ever had, potentially spark a civil war, and be such a naked power grab and general shit-taking on the Constitution that not even that president's staunchest supporters could defend it with a straight face.

Correct. The President does not have that authority.

Whichever law school gave you a diploma should lose its accreditation.

Also explains Trump and his supporters, who seem to think he can undo the "sins" of Obama with a couple of strokes of a pen on 1/20/17.

Actually, one could argue that President Obama has provided some of the breathing space for that delusion. But then one could also argue the same thing about his predecessor, and that predecessor's predecessor, and so on, and so on ...

One of the reasons why, when Obama's supporters cheered him circumventing Congress through executive actions, it was so annoying. They didn't seem to realize that the next guy could take those same steps to do what he wants, too. And the next guy might not be doing things you like. We have checks and balances built into the system for a reason, and it's usually a good thing when one branch or the other uses them.

It's also a good thing when Congress actually does some work.

And when it doesn't? So annoying.

In the weird world of government, sometimes doing nothing actually is doing something.
Government agencies, employees and politicians are like newspaper executives. They have to come up with new proposals every six months to justify their existence. No matter how asinine it seems, or how much more complicated it'll make the thing they're trying to fix. It doesn't hurt to once in a while say, "Wait, why are we doing this?" Or, when it comes to political squabbling being the cause of ineffectiveness, to leave things as they are and let the rest of the country go along with business as usual in a system they've figured out how to navigate and game to get the most out of it.

So the fact that he's taken fewer executive actions than any president in 130 years is not what's important, it's that his executive orders are just so nefarious whereas other presidents were like getting swing sets approved for national parks right?

Guess which president has fewest executive orders of the past 130 years?
