BTW, that wasn't just a chance for a line -- I really did live in Doraville.

I have read that the Atlanta metro area has some of the lowest population densities of any large American metro area. Also, very little mass transit. So there is horrific traffic. Surprisingly, Los Angeles actually has pretty high population densities (lots of low rise apartments in LA) and a heavily used bus system.

Did you often explore the area?

Yes, the mass transit in Atlanta is a joke. Very few people can reliably use it to commute. And it doesn't go anywhere close to where the new stadium is, so driving there is the only option.

In any other city I would say that I am sure these fears are baseless and a coherent and sensible traffic/mass transit plan will be worked out.

I googled and found an article that says the owners of the parking lots the Braves plan to use do not want a bridge. Evidently the Braves want to use the parking lots at a convention center and some office buildings. Have the convention center and the other property owners actually agreed to letting people park there? I can see where a convention center might not want to commit to giving up parking spaces 81 nights a year that they might need for events in their own building. And I am not sure that if I owned office buildings the extra money I made on parking for Braves fans would offset the problems said vehicles created for my tenants.

I'm sure a strategic towing campaign, coupled with interstellar parking charges, would clear that little mess up in about two days.

If I recall correctly, the head of the Cobb County Commissioners once proclaimed himself to be "Tea party approved." Still? Or is it possible that the Tea Party is not motivated by fiscal restraint but by something else?

We've got about six weeks left to find out.
