It's a public relations maneuver, pure and simple. Obama doesn't want to give terrorists recruiting ammunition.

Which seems to be the smart thing to do. Which is why the terminology talking point seems hollow and misplaced anger.

A remidner that several GOP Presidential candidates are tight with alleged man of God who thinks the gays should be put to death because the Bible tells us so:
Republican Candidates Attend Rally Where Pastor Advocates "Death Penalty" for Gay People

These alleged public servants paid homage to the hate-monger in advance of the Iowa caucuses.
Where in the Gospels does Jesus carry any weapons? Can someone point that out to me? Can they indicate why Jesus, if he were alive today, would carry an AR-15?

Gonna be a great month for the NRA. They're so excited they can't contain themselves.
Of the top eight weeks with the most background checks processes by the feds, six included at least one day within a month of Sandy Hook 0r San Bernardino.

They did nothing because he was Muslim.

    Reminds me of Major Hassan:

Me too. I still can't believe this happened just a day after Ali's funeral.

Thankfully he didn't have to see his beautiful, peaceful religion used to justify mass murder.

We've got G4S around here and they're sworn officers as company police. I have yet to meet one - including the former city officers they employ - I thought was competent to carry a gun and badge.

Been away from the board all day, but wanted to chime in with my two cents ...

    * The shooter was on a terrorist watch list, but the Republicans in Congress refused to pass legislation that would make it illegal for terrorists to buy guns (and explosives). Terrorists use airplanes as weapons on 9-11 and everyone has to go through extensive security checks and can't bring more than 3 oz of any liquid on board an airplane. Terrorists use semi-automatic guns to shoot up places in the US and Republicans give them the thumbs up to continue to buying their weapons legally. Makes no sense.

    * Nobody needs to own an AK-15 (or any other automatic or semi-automatic gun). Congress let the ban on that type of weapon expire in 2004 and had the chance to pass new legislation on it in 2012 and 2013 and refused to do so.
After the Sandy Hook school shooting author and gun-owner Stephen King wrote an essay speaking out against ownership of this type of weapon.
