Cody Chesnutt rocked that Dave Parker style in The Roots video for The Seed 2.0. The song is all timer.

Saw Kershaw in person Friday night; had a good seat to watch his pitches. His curveball is ridiculous, very sharp break.

What was most impressive was his control; IIRC through his first 12 batters he threw 4 balls; 4!!! Duffy went yard on him, but lefties appeared befuddled early on. Crawford and Panik did hit hard shots eventually to the fence and Posey nearly hit one out at about 410 (went 409) but Kershaw was still amazing.

James Shields getting worked over like a speed bag by the Tigers. 6-0 after two.

Addison Russell takes Scherzer deep, and now it's just your everyday 1-1 game.

Bad ass mother. A goddamn crime he's not in the Hall of Fame. One of the times I buy the bigger market bias (hi OOP!) b/c Jim Rice was a thoroughly inferior player who got in b/c he had the media he supposedly tormented penning odes to his greatness.

Rice had better averages and totals in virtually every category, including 43 more HRs in 1,000 fewer PAs.

Parker had more top-3 finishes in the MVP balloting. Had better OBPs and SLGs. Stole nearly three times as many bases. Played a real position and won three Gold Gloves there. Played fewer games at DH than Rice, who retired at 36, despite playing until he was 40.

Jim Rice might not have even been the best outfielder on his own team.
