    Irresponsible?

"Hey, Dad, I just shot Mom, sis and baby Batty with the rifle you bought."

"Why that's irresponsible, Junior. Get a mop and clean up your mess."

Putting it mildly, but yes. As a U.S. citizen, our Constitutional rights come with responsibilities not to tear down society while exercising them. Abusing them -- whether it's shooting up a nightclub, inciting a riot with hate speech, or publishing a story you know is false and destroying lives in the process -- is irresponsible.

Of course not and of course not. Even the NRA knows that.

But it's not enough. The NRA knows that, too, and it would just as soon not lose a single political battle, because one awaits after that.

The NRA's goal is to make a lot of money and wield a lot of influence. The NRA is no longer an organization lobbying for anything but it's own relevancy and importance. And it is brilliant at that. But it also means it can't - won't - concede anything.

You'd never expect a media company to lobby for its own irrelevancy, would you?

I'm pretty sure I know why that quote's attributed to "unknown" ...

Dick always knows where policy is right and wrong. But not sure what policy is needed to get other minorities on the same academic level as Asian Americans.
