There should no longer be a Constitutional right to bear arms. The world has changed since 1789, not least of which our country has expanded to encompass nearly half of North America. The reasons that the Second Amendment was enacted are no longer relevant in modern times, particularly when weighed against the dangers posed by firearms in the modern world. The right should be abolished.

Actually, it will be the next to last EO he issues. The final one will be an EO outlawing all future EOs concerning his UN-led confiscation of all firearms down to every last Super Soaker in the US of A.

Why is the Third Amendment still on the books?

Could you imagine what a clusterfuck that would turn into in 2016 America?

    OK.

But then you're advocating for something that is basically impossible in the near future.

Please stop with the "T" word.

If Chicago wants to have a handgun ban, Chicago should be able to institute a handgun ban. Under Heller, it can't do that. Because it has been interpreted this way, the Second Amendment should be abolished.

As a general principle, this isn't that controversial. Legislatures rewrite legislation all the time because they don't like the way the Court has interpreted the current version.
