Yup. Already pointed this out. Dicks lost vote is going to be costly!

Yeah, I think it's naive to believe that our system of government could never collapse.

Liberty is being denied the world over.

Fuck, people talk about a President Trump being a threat to our liberty.

Politicians will take as much power as we let them -- often just for personal gain/wealth. An armed populace is much more difficult to take power away from.

Lord knows that there is no shortage of guns in this country. The U.S. has 42% of the world's supply. That's why I think a ban is simply unworkable. Better background checks and finding a way to limit the high capacity weapons is about as good as we can realistically hope to ever achieve, and frankly I think that would go a long way. We're in too deep a hole to legislate our way out now.

Then we're not the beacon of freedom we think we are.

Well, either, of course. Cars are a menace. Thousands of people die on the roads each year at the hand of cars. There is no Constitutional right to own a car. Utah would be well within its rights to ban ownership and usage of cars within its borders.

I would allow certain hunting/target rifles as well.

Thankfully, we don't hear such craziness about President Obama.

The score of 1-0 isn't exactly the blowout you're making it out to be.

Sure, that's completely legit. So is home security and self defense. Hunting and shooting has been a part of this country's history since before the Republic was founded.

Just don't try to sell me on how you need a weapon that shoots 45 rounds a minute to hunt with.
