Except there are close to a billion people who don't subscribe to the literal interpretation of the Koran. Why would that be?

So Islam has a precise blueprint that cannot be altered. Christianity has a phone number jotted in a drunken scrawl on a matchbook cover, by comparison.

I'm pretty sure this is not what fundies believe.

So one thing Christians would be bound by is to treat everyone -- especially enemies -- as you would want to be treated.

Which Muslims don't believe that Koran is the literal Word of God?

I've never heard a prominent Muslim Imam say such a thing.

    It's clearly not a transcription.

It has multiple authors, writing over vast periods of time, about events they didn't witness.

Much of the New Testament isn't even a first person account of Christ's teachings. We've go the Acts of the Apostles, and letters from Disciples. They aren't even trying to channel Jesus, or God the Father.

You can do it even if it hadn't.

There isn't anything wise about it, though.

ISIS very much wants to live rent free in the heads of Americans. The more random, disaffected loner rebels glom on to the ISIS bullshit, the better, as far as ISIS is concerned. It's like a bunch of three-star chefs coming into your hotel suite and saying "would you like us to make you all of your favorite dishes and guarantee that you won't gain a pound?" I mean, ISIS won't say no.

It would be ISIS's dream for America to ghettoize and profile Muslims. Nothing better, in ISIS eyes.

Run this by a Christian fundamentalist.

Just because a fair reading of the situation might please ISIS isn't a reason to distort it.

The guy's motivations were clearly derived from Islam.

I would guess the millions of Muslims who are not executing people regularly or following Sharia law.
