    FWIW, the eight solo home runs was a major league record. The old record was five. So I'm not sure it by itself is evidence of a statistical trend.

    Bartolo was drilled on his pitching thumb with a laser linedrive and left after 4 pitches.

    Nova is 17 pitches into getting hammered by the Rocks.

    Bad baseball night in the boroughs.

    Dodger Stadium is the 3rd oldest ballpark in baseball. It sounded weird the first time I heard it.

    No. 3, 4 and 5 are all in California.

    And Kansas City is the only other one opened before 1989.
    Yet, I'm sure, owners will claim they're all obsolete money pits by 2020.

    Dang I spaced that Angels Stadium is that old. Now it makes sense.

    The reason the California parks are so old is because it's one of the few states where taxpayers refuse to be strong-armed into paying for stadiums. Say what you want about California politics, but they've mostly stood firm on that.

    Can't spend money on stadiums when you're on the cutting edge of high speed rail construction.
